Inside Q Acoustics' Certified Installer Programme for electricians

Q Acoustics' new QCI Programme delivers three online modules and an official certification to help electricians sell and install the brand's Easy Install home audio systems.

Custom-installed home audio has historically been the province of dedicated AV professionals, but Q Acoustics is making a deliberate move to broaden that channel. The brand's new Q Acoustics Certified Installer Programme, profiled in detail by Essential Install, targets professional electricians as the next wave of home audio installers and pairs free training with a recognised certification mark.

The programme is organised around three online modules. The first walks participants through home audio fundamentals, the second covers product technologies, and the third drills into installation techniques. Each is built to make the category less intimidating for trades that have the wiring expertise and the customer access but not the AV vocabulary. Charlie Henderson, speaking on behalf of the brand, said professional electricians had told Q Acoustics they wanted to expand into home audio but felt it was too complex or challenging to get started. The QCI Programme is the brand's direct response to that feedback.

The product strategy underneath the programme matters as much as the curriculum. A central focus is the brand's Easy Install range, which includes products such as the EasyFit speakers and the E60, E120 and E300A audio systems. These are engineered with straightforward installation in mind, simplified mounting, predictable cabling, and configuration patterns that map cleanly to the kind of work an electrician already does on a typical home job. Pairing that product range with a certification mark removes the most common obstacles, both technical and perceptual, that have historically prevented electricians from quoting home audio.

Additional modules are planned during 2026, reflecting a programme designed to evolve with installer feedback rather than as a one-time rollout. Certified electricians can display the QCI logo on quotes and marketing materials, which adds credibility when speaking with homeowners who may not realise that audio installation is now within an electrician's reasonable scope.

For anyone building or renovating with audio in mind, the QCI mark is a useful signal that the contractor on site knows the brand's product line and has been trained to install it well. For competing audio brands, this is a clear push to broaden the installer base, and one that may force the rest of the category to follow suit.
